Due to the popularity of previous events this years Stanmore fete was moved from Bernay’s Gardens to a larger location, Stanmore recreation Ground.

The Fete was opened by the Chief Executive of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Rob Hurd and newly re-elected MP Bob Blackman also made a guest appearance.

Events through out the day included a dog show and our very own Stanmore's Got Talent competition. There was a range of craft and jewellery stalls as well as a face painting stall which proved very popular with the kids, hot dogs and burgers, Asian food and ice cream.

Polish War Veterans visit Bentley Priory June 2015

Former Polish airmen visited Bentley Priory Museum this week and enthralled visitors with stories of their service during the Second World War.

As part of a heritage project to commemorate the contribution of Polish airmen during the Second World War, veterans and their families were interviewed about their service on a visit to Bentley Priory Museum.

The stories will be used to curate a touring exhibition, which will be launched at RAF Northolt and go on display at Bentley Priory Museum in September to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

During the Second World War, around 17,000 Polish airmen flew and fought for the allied campaign against Nazi Germany

The exhibition project has been funded by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund and has been co-ordinated by Mapis Project, who empower young people to learn new skills and confidence
